Wellington Elementary School Receives School of Recognition Honors.

We are thrilled to announce that Wellington Elementary has been recognized as a 2024 School of Recognition by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Out of more than 1,750 public schools in Massachusetts, only 57 were chosen for this distinction, and Wellington is excited to be among them.

Schools of Recognition are selected for the following reasons:

  • Students exhibit high academic achievement and growth.

  • Subgroups of students with high needs demonstrate a higher level of growth than the state’s accountability goals.

  • Students demonstrate improved attendance over time.

  • English Learners meet proficiency standards at a rate that is higher than the state recommendations.

“This honor is the result of our strong and dedicated community,” shared Principal Heidi Paisner-Roffman. “I am grateful to our talented, hard-working teachers for their commitment to all our learners, and thankful for unwavering support and meaningful collaborations of our families. Most importantly, I am humbled by our incredible students. They give their best each day and teach us more than we could possibly teach them.”
