Walk Against Hate logo

Walk Against Hate - Sunday October 15, 2-4 pm

The Walk Against Hate is a fun and inspiring afternoon event, bringing together individuals of all backgrounds and beliefs, along with a diverse group of more than 35 community partners. It's not just a walk - it's a family-friendly event that demonstrates the collective power of the community coming together to move toward a future without antisemitism, racism, and all forms of bigotry.

This community walk is organized by the Kulanu group associated with Congregation Beth Elohim. Kulanu means “all of us” in Hebrew and is an initiative of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) to engage synagogues to oppose antisemitism and all forms of bigotry.

Our outreach to area congregations and community organizations has received an enthusiastic response. The initial impetus was to respond as an entire community to multiple incidents within our schools of Nazi imagery and memes. Recent anti-immigrant  activities at hotels in Woburn and Marlborough which house refugees demonstrates that hate groups are active in the region.

Let us stand and walk together to oppose hate.

Details and registration are here:

Schedule:

  • 2:00 pm: Rally in Acton-Boxborough Regional High School Upper Gym

  • 2:30 pm: One-mile walk to Gardner Field

  • 3:30 pm: Concluding song and gathering

Route:

The walk will begin at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School (ABRHS) Upper Gym and conclude at Gardner Field in West Acton.  Please Park in the West Parking lots (away from the playing fields)

Speakers include Local clergy including Rabbi Braham David, Congregation Beth Elohim, Acton, Wanjiku Gachugi, Acton’s Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Rabbi Jonah Steinberg, NE Regional Director of the Anti-Defamation League, a student speaker from ABRHS, and our local state legislators: Sen. Jamie Eldridge, Rep. Simon Cataldo and Rep. Dan Sena.

The CARE Coalition is proud to be a co-sponsor of this Walk Against Hate event.
